Femtosecond Company/Theme store/Documentation
How to install, set up and get the most from a Femtosecond Company theme. Each theme's own guide is listed here as it launches.
01
Every theme arrives as a .zip file in the email you get after checkout.
Any Shopify plan can upload and publish a theme. Products, collections, orders and customers stay in Shopify, so nothing is lost when you switch.
02
Each theme comes with three presets: complete starting looks with their own layout, colors and fonts. Pick one in the theme library when you install, or switch later in Customize, then Theme settings. Switching a preset changes the look, not your content.
Your products, pages and settings content stay the same.
03
Open Customize and select the gear icon to change settings that apply to the whole store:
04
Every page is built from sections, and most sections have blocks inside them. In Customize, select Add section to add one, drag to reorder, and use the eye icon to hide one without deleting it. Product pages are blocks too, so you can reorder the title, price, options, buttons and description.
Apps that support app blocks appear under Apps when you add a block, so reviews, subscriptions and other apps drop in without code.
05
Theme features such as size charts, specs or fitment tables read from fields you connect. In Customize, select the block, then the connect icon next to a setting, and choose a metafield. Each theme's guide lists the fields it can use, with suggested definitions. Features with nothing connected stay hidden on your store, so the theme always looks finished.
06
Release notes for every version are on the changelog. A new version installs as a separate theme in your library. Your theme settings and section content are stored in each theme, so set the new version up in Customize before publishing it, or ask us to help. Code changes you made yourself are not carried over.
07
Before you edit any code, duplicate your theme: in Themes, select the three dots next to it, then Duplicate. Work on the copy and publish it only when you're sure.
Custom code changes aren't covered by theme support. If you need changes beyond the theme settings, hire a Shopify Partner, or ask us for a fixed price.
08
Can I use one license on two stores? No. Each license covers one store. Agency licenses cover the number of client stores they list. See licensing.
Do I need any apps? No. Everything in the theme works without apps. Reviews, subscriptions and similar features use the app of your choice through app blocks.
Will my theme slow down my store? Every theme is tested for speed and accessibility before release. Large uncompressed images and many apps are the usual causes of slow stores.
Where do I find my download again? Use the link in your order email, or contact support with your order number.
09
Theme support covers setup questions, theme settings and bugs in the theme as we shipped it. We reply within two business days, Monday to Friday, Pacific time, and fix confirmed bugs in the next release, or straight away if the bug is critical.
Support doesn't cover custom code changes, third-party apps, or design changes beyond the theme settings. We can quote those as paid work.
